The MotoGP world is mourning the loss of Marco Simoncelli who suffered fatal injuries Sunday in a crash during lap 2 of the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Sepang. The race was red flagged and later cancelled. Simoncelli will be layed to rest Thursday in his hometown of Coriano, Italy.

Jerez Spain was a very wet race. It boiled down to who was the smoothest and limited their risks. The results were Ducati's 3rd & 5th, Hayden and Rossi respectively. In the early stages Rossi was on fire after a poor start and a 1st turn squeeze out. He was passing like he was the only rider on a dry line, unfortunatly he may a gotten a little over confindent, he went under Stoner in turn one from a LONG way back and the front tire said "that's all I got" he washed the front and unfortunatly took Stoner with him, Rossi was able to get back up and refire( with the help of the stewards)and Casey just sat there with no help, not fair. I wanted to see the them get back to racing with each other. It's a nice feeling to see 6 Ducati Moto Gp bikes and riders in the field. So much for last years superbike and no factory team! Race 1 saw Smrz on the Effenbert Ducati lead more than 90% of the race to be relegated to 2nd place podium, with Checa fighting his way thru on a poor tire choice and a lackluster strat to finish 3rd. For Checa 3 races 2 1st's and a 3rd. Race 2 Checa got a better start and a better tire choice and finished 1st by more than 3 seconds, Smrz on the other hand had a few problems and finished 8th. Ducati leads in the Manufactures point standings and Checa leads in points, 3 1st's and a 3rd, "Not to shabby"
